Reverse Inclusion

Jessica Wall, 5th and 6th Grade ASPIRE Teacher, and her students hosted another reverse inclusion day. Students worked together to apply a multitude of life and academic skills in an authentic way.

The students worked in three mixed groups. Each group received a recipe for a classic thanksgiving dish, (mashed potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie). They worked together to read the recipe, search for the prices of each ingredient, and then addup the total price.

Lastly, each group used the dollar up strategy to figure out how many dollar bills they would need to give the cashier if they were to buy the ingredients in real life.

The kiddos did an awesome job! Thank you Mrs. Sherry and Mrs. Rowley of the 5th grade team and Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Eldridge and Ms. Deb for helping facilitate!!
